Npower is a Federal Government initiative established in 2016 by the former President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, to tackle the issues of youth unemployment and help increase social development, entrepreneurship and job opportunities.

According to Npower, the Npower batch c beneficiaries were being owed their stipends by the former President Muhammadu Buhari administration but paused by President Bola Tinubu upon resumption of office.

According to Npower, Dr. Betta Edu the minister in charge of Npower said, “Presently, Npower payment is ongoing; we were in the office yesterday up until the early hours of this morning, just to ensure that young people get Npower payment that they have been owed from the last government.

“So, Npower batch c beneficiaries across the Federation, I am sure you can attest to the fact that you are seeing your stipends in your accounts and this Npower payment process will continue until the last person who indeed has worked receives Npower payment.

“And of course, all of this is being restructured to ensure that we reduce unemployment and create jobs for Nigerians.”

“The Renewed Hope Npower has not been relaunched yet. We are still trying to deal with the baggage from the previous years. So, these are Npower batch c beneficiaries who were owed money for a few months, some were owed three months, six months, eight months and a few months.

“We used to have a consultant who used to manage the payments of these Npower stipends to the Npower batch c beneficiaries. However, the stipends were being held up with the consultants for months without paying the Npower batch c beneficiaries.

“So, what the government did was to recover the stipends back into the government’s Treasury Single Account Central Bank Of Nigeria account and now started scrutiny of the Npower batch c beneficiaries which took us this while to do and that is why we appeal to Npower batch c beneficiaries to be patient,” the minister in charge of Npower Dr Betta Edu said.
