President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Intervention On Npower And Other National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) Commendable — Orioye Benedict Gbayisemore Ex-beneficiary Of Npower
An ex-beneficiary of Npower, Orioye Benedict Gbayisemore, praised the prompt intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the issues surrounding Npower and other National Social Investment Programmes describing it as a noble move by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Orioye Benedict Gbayisemore the ex-beneficiary of Npower, who appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be very decisive and deliberate about alleviating poverty in Nigeria, but called for transparency in Npower and other social investment programme designed to make Nigerian youths independent and employers of labour.
Orioye Benedict Gbayisemore, the ex-beneficiary of Npower, said, “It is an issue of concern to us who has benefited from Npower and seen all of this financial misappropriation.
“Npower was designed to create employment for the teaming youth of this country and to awaken their entrepreneurial skills. For me, as a case study Npower brought me to limelight and today I am an employer of Labour’
Orioye Benedict Gbayisemore, the ex-beneficiary of Npower, implored the committee appointed by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to do a thorough job and contact the major stakeholders of the project for a comprehensive report and restructuring of Npower”.
Orioye Benedict Gbayisemore, the ex-beneficiary of Npower noted that Npower is the largest social investment programme in Nigeria and the whole of Africa which has affected every household in Nigeria both the poor, vulnerable and the rich.
Orioye Benedict Gbayisemore, the ex-beneficiary of Npower urged the committee to make sure that all those found culpable to be brought to justice to serve as a deterrent to others.
“I am appealing to the committee to expose those behind the fraudulent act and ensure that is not allowed to go scot-free”, Orioye Benedict Gbayisemore, the ex-beneficiary of Npower, added.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had last week constituted a special presidential panel on Npower and other National Social Investment Programmes.
The task before the committee among others is to immediately undertake a comprehensive review and audit of existing financial frameworks and policy guidelines of Npower and the other social investment programmes with a view to implementing a total restructuring of the financial architecture of Npower and other National Social Investment Programmes with detailed modification to procedures guiding the programmes’ implementation moving forward.
