Ex-minister In Charge Of Npower Dr Betta Edu Arrives EFCC Headquarters
According to Npower News, the ex-Minister in charge of Npower Dr. Betta Edu, arrives the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters in Abuja.
Dr. Betta Edu the ex-Minister in charge of Npower, will be meeting with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officers to make statements over the alleged transfer of ₦585,189,000 grant meant for vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ogun, and Lagos states into a personal account.
According to previous reports the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had summoned Dr. Betta Edu the ex-Minister in charge of Npower, to its headquarters in Abuja, prior to a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordering her suspension and probe.
A verified source in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) revealed to Channels Television that the ex-minister in charge of Npower, had been summoned in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s order that a holistic investigation be conducted covering Dr. Betta Edu's tenure in the ministry.
According to Npower News, a reliable source in the anti-graft agency said "the EFCC had earlier recommended the immediate suspension of the ex-minister in charge of Npower, in order to make room for the ongoing probe of the alleged scandal.
