PCCSIGN calls on content creators to apply for federal grants in October

With millions of Nigerians embracing content creation on social media, PCCSIGN urges creators to apply for grants to support their work. Speaking in Abuja, Mr. Michael Obinna Nwabufo, National President of the Practitioners of Content Creating, Skit-making, and Influencers Guild of Nigeria (PCCSIGN) and Ambassador for the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), announced that the association successfully applied for grants through the Bank of Industry (BOI), to be disbursed in October.

He explained that upcoming content creators, influencers, and models can receive between one to three million naira, directly deposited into their bank accounts, to assist with purchasing production equipment like cameras and laptops. PCCSIGN is also partnering with a bank to help creators set up business accounts for receiving the grants. Nwabufo emphasized that the funds are specifically for content creation purposes.

He highlighted the economic challenges in Nigeria, noting that while many focus on hardships, PCCSIGN focuses on opportunities. Nwabufo, as CAC ambassador, will also sponsor the business registration of 100 upcoming creators. PCCSIGN has partnered with the Nigerian Police to ensure creators are recognized and not harassed.

Nwabufo emphasized content creation's growing importance in today's world, recognizing its role in creating jobs and reducing unemployment, contributing significantly to Nigeria's GDP. He thanked President Tinubu and ministers Doris Uzoka-Anite and Hannatu Musa Musawa for their support of the creative industry.

PCCSIGN aims to empower more creators through the I-Dice Initiative and additional funds announced by the president. Nwabufo expressed confidence in Nigerians' creativity, encouraging creators to leverage platforms like YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, and others.

PCCSIGN is also planning an award ceremony for creators and public office holders, recognizing contributions to national development. Nwabufo urged government officials to showcase their work through content creation, fostering transparency and unity in nation-building.
