In response to mounting pressure to remove underperforming ministers, Tinubu had previously cautioned his cabinet about inadequate performance. However, apart from the suspension of Dr. Betta Edu, the head of the Humanitarian Affairs Ministry, over allegations of financial mismanagement, few changes have been made. To ensure accountability, Tinubu established a Central Delivery Coordination Unit to monitor ministerial performance, signaling that those falling short of expectations may be replaced.

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, founded in 2019 to handle social welfare and disaster management, may be disbanded as Tinubu believes its functions are already being carried out by other agencies, rendering the ministry unnecessary.
