Npower: Code Of Conduct Bureau Summons Minister Of Interior Mr Olubunmi Tunji Ojo Over Payment of ₦438,000,000 As Consultancy Fee To A Company Linked To Ex-Minister In Charge Of Npower Dr. Betta Edu

According to Npower News, the Code of Conduct Bureau has summoned the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji Ojo over payment of ₦438,000,000 as consultancy fee to a company linked to him by former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Betta Edu the ex-minister in charge of Npower.


A document exclusively obtained showed that the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) summoned the Minister of Interior Mr Olubunmi Tunji Ojo to appear before it on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) Headquarters, Abuja.


Sequel to this development, the South West Integrity Group have called for the suspension of Minister of Interior Mr Olubunmi Tunji Ojo amidst the scandal.


According to Npower News, the South West Integrity Group urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to suspend the Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, alleging his involvement in a recent contract controversy at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation the ministry in charge of Npower.


According to President Ogunleye Adebowale and Secretary Adeleye Adetutu, the South West Integrity Group affirmed that the minister went against the Constitution of the Federal Republic Nigeria. 


The group stressed their commitment as an anti-corruption body to exposing and eradicating corruption within the political class, presenting a petition highlighting the Interior Minister's alleged misappropriation of public funds and compromised integrity.
