Npower Suspension
Npower has been suspended for roughly six weeks, this suspension was as a result of alleged misappropriation of funds in the ministry in charge of Npower, after the investigation must have been concluded then the Npower suspension will be lifted.
Recall that few weeks ago Dr. Betta Edu the ex-minister in charge of Npower was suspended due to misappropriation of over N585million requested to be paid to a private account, although the Accountant General did not honour the request from the minister in charge of Npower. In addition to this Sadiya Umar Farouq was also summoned by EFCC to give her own narrative with respect to Npower payment during her tenure, Halima Shehu the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency was also not left out in the scandal.
Amidst all this scandals President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directed the anti-graft agency to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds in the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, that is the ministry in charge of Npower, during the ongoing investigation the President suspended Npower for six weeks pending the time the investigation will be completed, during this period of Npower suspension, Npower batch c and other Npower beneficiaries are not to expect Npower payment, Npower payment will be made only after the Npower suspension has been lifted.
According to Npower, the six weeks Npower suspension will give birth to a new Npower under the Renewed Hope Job Creation program and this will see to it that Npower beneficiaries get their Npower payment promptly, Npower batch c beneficiaries are implored to exercise patience until the Npower suspension is lifted.
