According to Npower News, on February 2024, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu placed on hold Npower and other National Social Investment Programmes. This suspension of Npower by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was as a result of an ongoing investigation into alleged misappropriation of funds within Npower and the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
