The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has clarified that it has not cleared Betta Edu the former Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in the ongoing investigation into the alleged financial misappropriation of public funds in the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, the investigation is still ongoing and will be concluded soon.

According to Npower News, the former Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, has warned of potential legal action against the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for purported defamation of character and false accusations.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revealed that it has so far recovered ₦30,000,000,000 from the ex-Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu.

According to Npower News today, the House of Representatives on Wednesday 1st of May 2024 pleaded with the Federal Government and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to expedite its investigation into the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, and lift the suspension of Npower so that beneficiaries of Npower can receive their stipends.
